Communication, Policy and Analysis:
INVI is looking for three interns for fall 2025

INVI is looking for interns with deep professionalism and a broad interest in society. Are you interested in communication, AI-driven analysis or policy analysis for society's wild problems? Then read more about the three internships below.

We have always been good at solving societal problems in Denmark. That's why we are one of the most prosperous countries. But as many have noticed, we no longer achieve the same results. We debate, we work, we stress, we set up commissions and expert groups. But often the big changes in society fail to materialize.

This is not because we have become worse at solving problems. It's because the problems we face are cross-border and intractable. Just think about climate, unhappiness or the lack of hands in the labor market. They are wild problems and they require new approaches.

At the think tank INVI, we develop visions and tools to give everyone working on wicked problems more strings to their bow. Together with practitioners and experts, we help rethink how we design and deploy policy. We test experimental data-driven methods and AI-based models and are not bound by party politics, bureaucratic battles or commercial interests.

We have high ambitions and lots of exciting projects in the pipeline. As an intern, you'll have plenty of opportunities to put your professional skills into play - whether you study political science, economics, sociology, design, anthropology, data science, business administration, communication, or something else entirely.

At INVI, we work with tasks that span theory, analysis and practice. We developed Denmark's first model for societal complexity, which we continue to develop in different application and learning spaces. And we collaborate with practitioners on the front line. So there are plenty of opportunities to take part in exciting assignments that give you experience and networks that you can use in your future career.

Depending on your skills and professional background, you can apply for three different internships:

1) INTERNSHIP COMMUNICATION: LINKEDIN RESPONSIBILITIES, PODCAST PRODUCTION AND ARTICLE WRITING

As an intern, you will be responsible for INVI's LinkedIn page. That's why we're looking for someone who has the energy to craft catchy, sharp and innovative Linkedin posts. But that won't be your only job. Depending on where you want to develop, you will also help organize podcasts, write articles for our newsletter, run cool events and communicate with INVI's members, our Policy Insights Panel and our Policy Youth Panel.

So we want you to be a skilled communicator - both in writing and preferably also in audio - and have the courage to take on complex topics in clear and simple language and write posts that inspire the INVI community and spread the word about INVI so that we reach even more practitioners who are struggling to tame the wild problems of our society. It takes a good understanding of your audience and a lot of courage to engage in innovative forms of communication - and we all help each other with that!

We have a lot of exciting initiatives going on at INVI, which is why your workday will be characterized by a wide variety of tasks. One day you'll be picking up the phone and calling a minister or an editor-in-chief. The next, you'll be writing an article for our newsletter about an exciting new method that can inspire our newsletter readers to approach their wild problem in a new way. And who knows, maybe the method and the sharp researcher you talked to for the article will also be interviewed by Sigge Winther and featured in the podcast VILD?

2) POLICY PRACTICE: POLICY ENTHUSIAST WITH A SHARP ANALYTICAL AND POLITICAL NOSE

As a policy intern, you will be involved in a number of the exciting, concrete projects that INVI has with various partners, including public authorities. This could be assisting a ministry with the implementation of a reform or otherwise involving practitioners in the political process. This places great demands on your professionalism and professional approach to tasks.

We have a lot of exciting initiatives going on at INVI, which is why your workday will be characterized by a wide variety of tasks. There will be tasks that revolve around research, planning, preparation of memos, analyses and background briefs, as well as supporting the development of new policy forms and much more.

You'll gain insight into stakeholder collaboration and how the political system works and operates in practice.

We attach particular importance to your ability to analyze and translate large amounts of complicated information into easily understandable language in note form, powerpoint etc. You must have the courage to throw yourself into both difficult tasks that require a lot of thought and lend a hand when making coffee. INVI is a start-up where everyone helps each other. We promise that you will be challenged in your professionalism and will learn a lot that will be extremely useful in your future working life.

3) PRACTICE ANALYST: ANALYST WITH CURIOSITY FOR DATA, AI TOOLS

Over the past year, INVI has developed Denmark's first Wild Problem Model, which uses large-scale language models to measure how wild a problem is and can map how the problem is configured by the many different stakeholders who have different perspectives on it. An important part of INVI's work in the coming period will be to further develop the model and test its use in concrete analyses.

We are looking for interns who are analytically strong and can work with both quantitative and qualitative data - from collecting to processing and cleaning data, to analyzing, visualizing and interpreting results in a societal context.

It's a plus if you are good at visualizing and communicating data-driven projects, or can use skills to conceptualize the way we present our analytical models.

It's a plus if you can work with data in python, have other programming skills, or are open to experimenting with AI tools and further developing our model, which is built on large language models.

We expect you to be in a relevant higher education program. Maybe you're a social scientist, maybe you're a data scientist, engineer, techno-anthropologist, or humanist with an understanding of technology and data. It's not that important. What matters is that you are passionate about the work of developing creative analytics and data-driven tools to study society's wild problems.
