Watch the panel discussion on responsible AI: "We talk about different things when we talk about AI"

Three panelists stood on the podium in the Parliament Hall in front of 150 participants at the Youth Summit. The debate was characterized by great knowledge of the topic, but also an openness to what it really means to create responsible AI. The panelists had a forward-looking debate that gave the participants new perspectives and equipped them to take part in the conversation about how we ensure responsible development of AI.

What exactly is AI? And who are we missing in the conversation about the technology?
"We talk about AI as if it's a magical mythical creature," Oliver Anton, philosopher and debater, suggested.

But in reality, it's 'just' large amounts of data being analyzed with advanced statistical calculations, and that misunderstanding is a problem, says Oliver Anton. Because if we don't agree on what AI is, how can we create responsible development?

CEO at Todai, Dan Rose Johansen, agrees. He believes there is a fundamental educational task before we can create responsible AI. But who will be responsible for that education?

Tech consultant at Deloitte, Nafisa Fiidow, calls for the technical experts in the AI conversation: "I miss the geeks in the debate," she said. She believes that the AI specialists should help explain the basic principles to the rest of us, and on that basis we can create a common knowledge base - a common understanding that she believes does not exist today.

"But where would we be in the climate fight if everyone had to be a biologist in order to speak out?" It's not enough for specialists to discuss AI in closed rooms, he says - we all need to understand the technology so we can decide how we want to use it.
