INVI is looking for a senior advisor with strong analytical skills to lead political change processes

INVI is an independent think tank that is neither party-political nor sector-specific, but looks across society. INVI bridges the gap between political visions and all those in society who need to implement reforms.

INVI is a think tank with an entrepreneurial spirit. In just over a year, we have gone from 1 to 15 employees. We have moved into The Yellow Farm - our new home in the heart of Copenhagen - which has become a gathering point for many of those working with social change. Behind us, we have a strong board of directors and a number of committed foundations with something at heart. We have built strong communication channels and a packed event calendar. We have exciting collaborations ahead of us - not least in relation to our new Wild Problems Model. And many more in the pipeline.

Your role:
We create the role together, but overall it will be your task as an advisor to project manage and drive key collaborations with foundations, ministries, municipalities and organizations. As many of these collaborations center around our Model for Wild Problems, your strong analytical skills will be important in the meeting with our partners and your new colleagues, which include everything from data scientists to journalists to political scientists, CBS and designers.

So, are you at ease with the thought of meetings with top officials? Do you think about reliability, validity and replicability when faced with a new data set? Can you project manage? And do you have a keen eye for how to recruit respondents for brand new analysis formats? Then you should consider applying for the position of Senior Advisor in INVI.

About the think tank INVI
Do you feel like you formulate lots of plans and projects, but change often fails to happen? You're far from alone in that feeling. Economics professor Nina Smith's Reform Commission was born because our approaches to political reform no longer work the way they did in the last century. Much can be solved with existing tools, but not everything can be solved with a pot and a pamphlet or, for that matter, a commission, an expert group or by raising or lowering taxes. This is where INVI comes in. We custom-design the new toolbox for today's wild social problems. These are problems that are transgressive and stubborn. Just think of climate change, unhappiness or the lack of workers in the labor market. They are all wild problems, and they often require new approaches.

The think tank INVI works closely with ministries, municipalities, foundations and civil society to tackle the root of the Wild Problem. INVI's new Wild Problem Model is our main vein in problem solving, but we activate a wide range of other tools in our work to connect the front door and back door of democracy.

We imagine that:

  • You work purposefully and independently.

  • You can project manage complex collaborations with a lot at stake and have the ability to lead projects with a steady hand, as well as take the exciting dialogues with our partners.

  • You have strong analytical skills and you know everything from methodology to respondent recruitment.

  • You are energized by the thought of bringing an ambitious think tank safely through its next stages of growth and development.

  • You are curious and humble when it comes to disciplines other than your own.

  • You have the bandwidth to handle an exciting, fast-paced workday with many projects in collaboration with your skilled colleagues.

  • You preferably come with 3-5 years of experience, perhaps from a research company, consultancy, ministry or (interest) organization? Maybe you don't. The important thing is that you want to start a new chapter in your professional life in a think tank with a strong foundation. A think tank that gives you the freedom to fulfill big ambitions.

  • It is an advantage if you have professional insight in areas such as: 1) youth, dissatisfaction and employment 2) health and elderly 3) artificial intelligence 4) and green transition.

The deadline is January 19, 2025 with interviews afterwards, but we continuously accept interesting applicants for a dialog. Tests will be included in the selection of the right candidate. We want to hire per March 1, 2025. Send your application to Head of Secretariat Janne Bram Hemphrey at janne@invi.nu and Director Sigge Winther Nielsen.

Think tank INVI is located in the cobbled inner Copenhagen - right by Slotsholmen. We have a delicious canteen, flexible working days and value good social interaction.
