Analysis: Majority of Danes don't believe in the future

A small proportion of Danes trust the political system to bring about positive change. They are neither impressed by past reforms nor convinced that society will be better in the future. 

Executive Summary 

  • 82% of Danes don't think society will be better in 10 years - a figure that was 80% in 2023. 

  • 51% of Danes do not believe that the reforms of the last 10 years have made society better - a figure that was 46% in 2023.  

  • Only 14% of Danes believe that political decisions are made with an eye on whether they can be implemented. 

  • Danes believe it is unlikely that the political system will be able to deliver on a number of agendas by 2030 - especially less bureaucracy and more dignified elderly care.
